Content Marketing – Todays Marketing Format In Costa Rica

content markting in costa ricaA week ago, a friend, from the world-class resort Crocodila Bay published an awesome video of a sailfish jumping into a boat and in a heat of panic, the angles jumping out. Within days, the hits to the video numbered over 26,000.

A while back, we published a short video on Costa Rica sportsfishing captain, Captain Bobby McGuinness, holder of over 200 world records, and within a short time over 10,000 hits.

If you view the videos, notice one thing in common, all have targeted the business using an effective managed content marketing campaign that helped drive 1000s of potencial customers to their business.

A couple of years ago, the big announcement was BLOGGING was dead; come to find out Blogging is more important today than it is ever been and you know why? It called Content Marketing (the new buzzword) Content marketing sounds a lot better than blogging. So What is it?  According to Wikipedia:

Content marketing is any marketing format that involves the creation and sharing of media and publishing content in order to acquire customers. Content marketing is any marketing format that involves the creation and sharing of media [like videos and audios] and publishing content in order to acquire customers.

What that means is with the consumer shutting down ads (Think TiVO) blocking ads and popups on their computer, the day of 'traditional advertising' has changed.

It is now about informing, educating customers and potential customers via a non-selling technique, which helps build creditability to the business.

The other part of content marketing is 'getting found'. When Google came out with Google glass they had to change the way people search. Instead of plugging in search on your computer 'Costa Rica real estate' they talk into the smart glass and will say something like 'find me a fishing recipes in Costa Rica" and "bingo" your glasses fill up with links/CONTENT that target the fish reciptes, and this is WHY blogging as a content marketing strategy is important.  Now you post on your blog ..  it gets picked up by a RSS feed, and a ALERT pops in your glasses: Just IN: Costa Rica Spicy Tuna Steaks.
