Costa Rica's first reported Swine Flu death happened on Saturday.

Costa Rica's first reported Swine Flu death happened on Saturday.

Costa Rica’s first death of the swine flu was that of a  53-year-old man on Saturday and as of now his town and name has been kept from the public.  As we posted last week  Whine Flu – Paris Hilton, hundreds of Costa Ricans (or should I say, hypochondriacs)   hush to hospitals in similar flu-like symptoms. I guess the government is being smart, not needing a PP (Pandemic Panic) as the culprit media has been doing world-wide since this virus started.

However, he also suffered from diabetes and chronic lung disease, which complicated the illnesses, the Health Ministry said.

The Costa Rican fatality was one of eight swine flu cases reported to date and all have been confirmed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health Minister Maria Luisa Avila said.

Avila said officials had been unable to determine how the Costa Rican patient became infected, but she said he had not recently traveled abroad. Many flu sufferers in other nations have been linked to recent trips to the United States or Mexico.

People with chronic illnesses usually are at greatest risk for severe problems from flu, along with the elderly and young children.
