Underworld Gambling Film, Leonardo DiCaprio in Costa Rica

Costa Rica productions companies are  no strangers to movies, and have a ton of resumes to prove it -   probably the most well-known film, filmed in the country, was author Michael Crichton best seller thriller, "Congo," which to me was one of the best books I have ever read. And Costa Rica is no stranger to gambling, a country where it is legal and after the crackdown on online betting in the … [Read more...]

This is his Katrina ... from a Twitter post Getting ready to Blog and Twit yesterday about Costa Rica, I suddenly found my jaw dropping  at the above Twit. Costa Rica Drinking Age – Driving and Fines

Someone sent me this video, and I know it is not of Costa Rica, but still pretty unreal of how drinking a tad to much can make you look like an idiot. Real or Fake, make a comment! Costa Rica Cigarettes – New Tax Hike

It seems that Costa Rica's government is following in California's and other US States footsteps by proposing a new tax on cigarettes to increase their revenue. This law would limit smoking in some work places, public recreation, and cultural areas and near health centers like hospitals, clients and wellness … [Read more...]

Hours before the case was confirmed, assembly president Francisco Antonio Pacheco asked legislators to avoid handshake and … [Read more...]

Tipping and Gratuities – Costa Rica

Foreigners are told that hotels and restaurants add a percentage (usually 10%) into the bills to tip the employees, so there is no need to tip. Grant you that is true, but that percentage is suppose to get  dispersed in fair and equal percentage to all the employees, like the busboy, cook, kitchen help etc. However, the time it filters down to the poor little waitress, that ran her ass off to … [Read more...]
